Paolo Nutini, Gomez, Howie Day, YMSB to headline Triple A Conference at Fox Theatre!

BOULDER, Colo. — Ben Harper, Gomez, Howie Day and Yonder Mountain String Band will headline three nights of concerts at the Fox Theatre next month in conjunction with Boulder’s 17th annual Triple A radio conference.
The event — rechristened the FMQB Triple A Conference after its new sponsor, the Friday Morning Quarterback tipsheet — will take place Aug. 5 through 7 at the University Hill club and at the St. Julien Hotel & Spa.
The conference — which caters to Adult Album Alternative stations such as Boulder’s KBCO (97.3 FM) — nearly was canceled earlier this summer after longtime organizer Radio & Records, the industry’s leading publication, abruptly closed its doors last month after 36 years.
Founded in 1992 by the now-defunct Gavin Report, the conference traditionally brings in both up-and-coming and high-profile music acts to play for radio programmers from around the nation and — thanks to a limited number of tickets put on sale to the public — lucky Boulder music fans.
Previous performers have included Dave Matthews, Jason Mraz and John Mayer.
This year’s event will feature Harper performing with his new band, Relentless7, plus appearances by Andrew Bird, Paolo Nutini and Ingrid Michaelson.
“We’re really excited, because there will be some really huge national acts,” said Brian Carp, the Fox’s general manager. “These are really big names and we’re really looking forwarding to presenting them at the Fox.
“We expect the tickets will go fast.”
A limited number of tickets will be put on sale to the public on Wednesday; watch the Fox Theatre’s Web site for details.
