Saul Williams Kicks Off “The Niggy Tardust Experience”

Saul Williams is considered a tour de force voice of the hip-hop generation as a poet, actor, rapper, singer and musician. Best known for his blend of spoken word poetry and hip-hop, and for his leading role in the independent film Slam, he received notable recognition while supporting Nine Inch Nails for parts of their 2005-2006 tour. Saul’s third album, The Inevitable Rise and Liberation Of Niggy Tardust, was produced by Trent Reznor, and released in 2007, but, his 2001 release Amethyst Rock Star, is revered by some as this decade’s most crucial hip-hop album.
It can’t help but feel a bit odd that Saul Williams is part of a hugely sponsored megatour, but at the same time it’s pretty awesome he’s getting the forum and stage to really put himself out there so many years into a worthwhile and unique career. He kicked off festivities with a CMJ event last week and now his Experience hits full swing.
Be sure to check out Saul Williams performing his new show “The Niggy Tardust Experience” at the Fox Theatre on November 8th!
