PHAROAHE MONCH AT THE FOX ~
Hip hop heads have been buzzing about the appearance of Troy Donald Jamerson, better known as Pharoahe Monch. Pharoahe found his calling of being an emcee while attending art school, and eventually was the co-founder of the duo group Organized Konfusion. The duo was one of the most highly respected underground hip hop acts of the 90’s, due to the duo’s intelligent rhymes and lyricism of Prince Poetry and Pharoahe Monch. After releasing three albums together, (self titled- ‘Organized Konfusion’, ‘Stress: The Extinction Agenda’, and the ‘Equinox’) the two decided to split to pursue solo careers. Monch’s first solo album, ‘Internal Affairs’, was released on October 19th, 1999. On June 26th in 2007, Monch’s second solo album ‘Desire’ was released to the public. In an era where a rapper’s image and financial status seem to capture the attention of fans more than lyrical content and creative production, Monch refused to dumb down this project, choosing instead to be original and stayed true to himself, while being as skillful as possible on the mic. “It’s that Desire to keep pushing the limits of his craft that proves why Pharoahe Monch’s name will be mentioned one of the greatest emcee’s of all time.”
We advise any hip hop fan to not miss this show on the 13th of December.
